Governor Hochul outlined her proposed budget priorities focused on making New York stronger, safer, and more affordable for residents and businesses statewide.

Mark Jaffe Attends State of the State Budget Presentation in Albany

Mark Jaffe recently attended The State of the State Budget presentation in Albany, New York, delivered by Governor Kathy Hochul. During the address, Governor Hochul outlined her proposed budget priorities focused on making New York stronger, safer, and more affordable for residents and businesses statewide.

Mark Jaffe also proudly supports newly elected Council Member Julie Menin in her role as Chair of the New York City Council’s Small Business Committee. As Chair, Council Member Menin will champion legislation and initiatives that strengthen small businesses, support entrepreneurs, reduce regulatory burdens, and promote equitable economic growth throughout New York City.


Budget Highlights Include:

  • A commitment to making New York more affordable for working families, including an additional $4.5 billion investment in child care
  • A balanced budget with no new income tax increases, supported by more than $14.6 billion in state reserves
  • The highest level of state aid to schools in New York history, while continuing universal free school meals
  • Protection of access to health care, reproductive health care, and mental health services
  • The “Let Them Build” agenda to accelerate affordable housing construction, advance major transportation projects, and strengthen critical infrastructure
  • Continued historic investments in local law enforcement to enhance public safety
  • Expanded funding for food security programs
  • Investments that put New York on a path toward a cleaner, greener, and more affordable future
  • Elimination of taxes on tipped wages
  • Maintenance of New York’s AA+ credit rating, the state’s strongest since 1972
  • A fiscally responsible budget designed to protect New York’s economy while preparing for uncertainty from Washington
