Kelly Loeffler & Mark Jaffe Discuss Small Business Growth, Regulatory Reform, and Supply Chain Resilience at the Greater New York Chamber Annual Business Expo

At the Greater New York Chamber Annual Business Expo, former U.S. Senator and the newly appointed U.S. Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler joined Mark Jaffe, President and CEO of the Chamber, for a timely discussion on the critical role of small businesses in the American economy and the policies shaping their future.

Loeffler emphasized that small businesses and entrepreneurs are the backbone of the U.S. economy, driving innovation, job creation, and local development. A key focus of the conversation was the impact of federal deregulation efforts. Both speakers noted how regulatory reforms have helped reduce burdens on small business owners, spurring growth and entrepreneurship. However, they agreed that more work remains to streamline compliance and increase access to resources, especially for minority- and women-owned businesses. That is why the Greater NY Chamber opened a new “SBA Community Resource Center” in our office.

Another focal point was the ongoing challenges in the global supply chain. Loeffler and Jaffe discussed how supply chain resilience has become a national priority, particularly in the wake of pandemic-era disruptions. They highlighted the Small Business Administration’s role in supporting small and mid-sized manufacturers, including efforts to re-shore critical industries and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.

The conversation also underscored the importance of strategic partnerships between federal, state, and local stakeholders. Loeffler emphasized the need for collaboration among city, state, and federal agencies to connect directly with small business leaders and ensure policies reflect the needs of entrepreneurs on the ground.

Together, Loeffler and Jaffe reaffirmed their commitment to advancing pro-growth policies and strengthening the support systems that allow small businesses to thrive in a changing economic landscape.
