Celebrating Womens Veterans Day with "Proudly She Served" Book Signing Luncheon Reception
On Tuesday, June 13th - The Greater New York Chamber hosted a book signing luncheon reception to celebrate and honor Womens Veterans Day. This date was chosen to celebrate the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act. Women Veterans Day honors the work of women in the military and recognizes their unique challenges. The luncheon and book signing included local dignitaries, the Proudly She Served Executive Director and New York based artist - Steve Alpert, the Proudly She Served Project Director, retired naval aviator and officer - Linda Maloney and six of the twelve Proudly She Served portrait participants.
Attendees listened to amazing heroic stories. The Proudly She Served Portrait Series offers a beautiful and powerful testimony and celebration of military and veteran women, who exemplify courage, strength, and selfless service…everyday heroes who have made an impact through their service to our country and inspire the generations following in their footsteps,
