These resources will help you take all the steps needed to reopen your business, and feel more confident, professional and prepared. They discussed the NY Forward requirements, resources and instructions to complete your companies Safety Plan, COVID19 signage and educational posters to download and print. They discussed the 6 ft. distance between personnel, unless safety or core function of the work activity requires a shorter distance. Any time personnel are less than 6 ft. apart from one another, personnel must wear acceptable face coverings, post social distancing markers using tape or signs that denote 6 ft. of spacing in commonly used and other applicable areas on the site.

Celebrating Juneteenth

June 18, 2020

Recognizing past honorees at our annual Black History Month Awards: Congressman Charles Rangel, 1010 WINS news anchor Larry Mullins, 100 Black Men NYC President Michael Garner, former NYC Veterans Affairs Commissioner Terrance Holliday and Black Shopping Channel CEO Cleveland Gary.
As we march towards economic justice and safety for all who live and work in our community; we need to remember that discrimination comes in many forms. Today, COVID 19 has exposed the economic discrimination in our system. The Greater NY Chamber has led the fight for $15 minimum wages in NY and now we see that our federal government is willing to pay unemployed low wage workers even more. Business needs labor and now there are Payroll Protection Program “PPP” loans” that are forgivable! Today June 19th 2020, we celebrate Juneteenth, a National Holiday that will help us remember Black History and the fact that we need more fairness and equal rights for everyone, regardless of the color of their skin. The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce commits to continuously fight and stand for freedom, justice and equality.

Paycheck Protection Program Reform Bill Passed - Helping Small Businesses

June 4, 2020

The Senate tonight passed by voice vote a House-passed clearing it for President Donald Trump's signature.

The legislation would give small businesses more time to use emergency loans under the program by extending the eight-week period in which they must use the money to qualify for loan forgiveness to 24 weeks.
The bill would also give small businesses more flexibility by changing the so-called 75/25 rule, which requires recipients of funds under the program to use three-quarters of the money for payroll costs and to limit other costs to no more than 25% in order to be eligible for loan forgiveness. The new ratio would be at least 60% on payroll and no more than 40% on other costs.
